In one place (Qift) there was a god called Min. His statues feature an
enormous dong. Maybe this was a rude in-joke of Milligans? I certainly
know he "got away with" Scrotum, the wrinkled retainer.

Spike made it his life's work to "get away with" things.

As in Call of the West: "...alongside lay the good ship Venus..."
(A small titter ran around the audience.)

I recently watched "Penny Points to Paradise" (1951), the first film
featuring Sellers, Secombe and Milligan when they were still Crazy People.
Spike was tall and good-looking back then, and not as nutty as later on.

BTW Penny Points refers to football pools. Paradise was Brighton.
